COVID-19 Updates
As your State Assemblymember, I am working closely with local leaders, health authorities, school districts, and other entities to provide unified and informed information addressing COVID-19 concerns. The Sacramento County 'COVID-19 Order' means that residents should stay home unless going to the grocery store, medical appointment, or other "essential" activity. This order is effective March 19, 2020 at 11:59 pm.
Residents can still go outside to exercise, as long as they maintain a safe distance from others. Residents cannot gather in groups of people of any number outside a household or living unit. And residents should not participate in any "non-essential" travel until further notice.
Given the need for timely critical information and resources for COVID-19, I will be focusing my social media and e-alerts on updates, links, and more as we continue to learn about the impact this virus will have on our communities.
UPDATE FROM THE CA LEGISLATURE:
My colleagues and I are working with the Governor to ensure that our public agencies have all the resources needed to combat COVID-19. Last night, the California Legislature passed up to $1 billion to combat COVID-19 which includes:
- Activating more hospitals and increasing equipment
- More hotel beds for those experiencing homelessness
- Supporting local governments to reduce spread of COVID-19 in homeless population
- Assisting hospitals, nursing homes, and other facilities manage
- Funding strike teams to support senior isolation
This action also ensures local educational agencies receive funding for an entire school year and allocates $100 million to clean school sites and child care facilities.
