It is an honor to invite you to my upcoming Holiday Reception and Toy Drive in partnership with Access Sacramento benefiting the Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services.

The open house is an opportunity to meet with me, learn about my office, and share your ideas concerning the state budget and legislation.

In addition to the open house, we will be collecting unwrapped toys which will be distributed to the families served by the Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services this holiday season.

The event is free and open to the public. Light hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be served.

Fairytale Town Free Admission Day & Canned Food Drive

Fairytale Town offers FREE admission to visitors who bring in a canned good to donate the day after Thanksgiving! All goods collected will be donated to the Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services, Spirit of Giving Holiday Drive.

Enjoy free play inside of Fairytale Town, plus free arts and crafts activities. Puppet Art Theater Company will also be on hand to present a puppet show! Watch a holiday version of Jack and the Beanstalk at 12:30, 1:30 and 2:30 PM in the Children's Theater. Puppet show tickets are $1 for members and $2 for nonmembers. Tickets are available 15 minutes prior to each show time at the Children's Theater doors or at the box office.

Not sure what food items to bring for donation on the day after Thanksgiving?

The following items are on the Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services wish list:
- Canned fruits, vegetables and beans
- Canned meat, tuna and chicken
- Soup
- Peanut butter


Please note: 
- Fairytale Town is open weather permitting. If skies are gray, please call us at (916) 808-7462 or check our website to confirm our hours for the day.
- Adults must be accompanied by children and children must be accompanied by adults in order to gain admittance to the park.

Standing center stage at Front Street and K Street in Old Sacramento, the 60-foot tall Old Sacramento District Holiday Tree will be lit for the first time on Wednesday evening, November 22, 2017, at 6p.m. Join us 4:30pm for family fun and festivities!

Enjoy performances from:

- Sacramento Preparatory Music Academy
- Capitol City Dance Academy
- Violet Joy Hansen - Miss California's Outstanding Teen
- Sacramento City College Choir

After enjoying festive entertainment and the lighting of the Holiday Tree, stick around for the opening performance of Macy's Theatre of Lights!

Midtown Halloween Festival

Pooches & people alike will gather Saturday, October the 28th from 1-3 pm at Marshall Park to celebrate the Midtown Halloween Festival & Pooch Parade. Four-legged friends will strut their stuff and show off some creative costumes for a chance to win prizes! The event will be sponsored by the Sutter District – with restaurants that include BarWest, Biba, Blue Cue, Café Bernardo, Centro Cocina Mexicana, Harlow’s, Monkey Bar, INK Eats & Drinks, Paragary’s Midtown and Red Rabbit Kitchen & Bar. Activity and music sponsorships are made available by Republic Services!

The event will also highlight Midtown’s popular mobile off-lease “Pop-Up Dog Park” and include family-friendly activities including face painting, a bounce house, hands-on arts and crafts and entertaining live music.
