(SACRAMENTO) – Building upon California’s efforts to welcome and successfully integrate refugees from around the world, the California State Assembly today approved the “California Welcomes Refugees” legislative package by Assemblymembers Kevin McCarty (D- Sacramento), Lorena Gonzalez Fletcher (D – San Diego) and Adrin Nazarian (D- Sherman Oaks), which will help refugees access educational and employment resources necessary to become integrated and productive members of the state.

SACRAMENTO - Assemblymember Kevin McCarty (D- Sacramento) and the Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services (SFBFS) will kick off Mother’s Day weekend by highlighting the work of SFBFS’s Parent Education Program and announcing the results of McCarty’s Mother’s Day donation drive. The event will take place on Thursday, May 11 at 11:00 AM at the SFBFS offices in the Oak Park neighborhood of Sacramento.

(SACRAMENTO, CA) – The California Joint Legislative Audit Committee has approved an audit request by Assemblymember Kevin McCarty (D - Sacramento) to evaluate the negative fiscal impacts and public safety questions raised by Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) license programs in the state.
